Record-Breaking Heat Wave Hits the Valley: Spring is Sizzling!
Grab your sunscreen and stay cool and hydrated this weekend! Forecasters are warning that we are on the verge of a record-breaking March. We are currently experiencing an unprecedented March heat wave. Yesterday, we hit 95°F, breaking the all-time March record, and there is a 50% chance we could hit 100°F today or tomorrow then stay in the mid-to-high 90s through Wednesday. It’s an unusually early start to “pool season,” so if you’re heading out this weekend, plan for summer-level heat!
To put this in perspective, we don’t usually see triple digits until late May! An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect through Sunday night, so be sure to check on your pets and maybe move those outdoor plans to the morning hours.
WHAT WE'RE LOVING THIS WEEK
NBA in the 702? The buzz is real! We are loving the major buzz surrounding Las Vegas and the NBA this week! This morning, Nevada’s top officials officially sent a “full court press” letter to the NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver, urging the league to select Las Vegas for its next expansion team. With the NBA set to vote on expansion sites next week, we are one step closer to completing the Big Four of pro sports in the valley. The Sports Capital of the World is officially leveling up.
