Happy Friday Vegas!

Welcome to the Explore 702 Weekly Events Guide! 🎉

Vegas Weekend Unlocked 🔑⚡

Fall weather is finally creeping into the valley, and it couldn’t come at a better time.

As we head into this week, our city comes together to mark nine years since October 1st. It’s a moment for all of us across the 702 to pause, honor the lives lost, and support our neighbors. Between the 1 October Sunrise Remembrance Ceremony at the Clark County Government Center and the Forever One Memorial Groundbreaking on October 2nd, it’s a powerful reminder of how close-knit this valley really is.

Beyond that, the valley has a packed lineup over the next seven days—from major conventions taking over the Strip to live shows, outdoor pop-ups, and great local food.

Whether you’re heading out to an event or just trying to dodge mid-week convention traffic around Sands and Paradise, I’ve got your week laid out line-by-line so you don’t miss a thing.

Beyond the events, I am so thrilled about the growth of our community in The Explore 702 Neighborhood Facebook Group! We are building this to be so much more than just a page—it is our real-time Vegas Intelligence Hub where neighbors share raw local reviews, hidden gems, and real-time valley updates. If you haven’t joined yet, please JOIN NOW—I’m building this to be more than just a group; I want it to be the real voice of the 702. Whether you want to share a raw review of a new residency, find or tell us about the best local mechanic, or better yet just show us how you do Vegas, we want to hear your voice! This is where the real conversation needs to happen. We are just getting started, and I would love for you to be a part of the Neighborhood as we grow toward our first 500 Neighbors and beyond.

Make sure to keep scrolling down to unlock your complete, day-by-day blueprint of things to do this week! Grab an ice-cold drink, stay hydrated, and let’s get into it! 🥂✨

Check In to Vegas’s Most Decadent Dark Fantasy at the Palms

Spooky season in Las Vegas is officially taking over, and the Palms is dropping what is easily the most anticipated Halloween pop-up of the year! Following their massive hits with Santa’s Saloon and Camp Palms, the resort is opening The Haunted Inn right on the casino floor next to Scotch 80 Prime.

This isn’t just a place to grab a quick drink—it’s a living, breathing supernatural hotel where you become part of the story the second you step up to the vintage front desk.

What Makes This a Must-Experience Feature:

  • Free Admission & Zero Cover Charge: No ticket scalpers or overpriced door fees here—it’s 100% free entry for guests 21+.

  • Immersive Interactive Theatre: Forget basic decor; you’re walking straight through a spooky forest and graveyard while live, eccentric characters interact with you. You might get pulled into an impromptu séance with Lady Palms, end up helping Uncle Heckyll bury a body, or become a “mock victim” in a murder mystery unfolding right at your table!

  • Wild Themed Cocktails & Mocktails: The F&B team went all out—drinks arrive served in actual blood bags, mini coffins, glowing poison bottles, skull cups, and skeleton hands! Sip on Lady Palms’ Black Magic, Grandpa’s Nightcap, or Franchesca’s Blood Drive.

  • Ghoulish Bites & Late-Night Comfort Fare: The kitchen menu features thematic dishes like Todd’s Murder Burger, Little Bit’s Bite Me! Bat Wings, Franchesca’s Vampire Repellant, and Creepy Crawly Chili.

📍 Homegirl Tip: Here’s the real inside scoop: with Freakling Bros sitting out the 2026 season, local haunt lovers are flocking to immersive pop-ups like this. Because entry is free and it’s first-come, first-served, lines will wrap around the casino floor on Friday and Saturday nights. Your Game Plan: Pull up right at 5:00 PM on a Wednesday or Thursday evening. You’ll bypass the massive weekend crowds, grab prime seating near the performance areas, get your drink orders in unique novelty vessels before supplies run low for the night, and enjoy free parking right in the Palms garage! Dress in dark glam or Halloween attire to fully mesh with the cast!

WHAT WE'RE LOVING THIS WEEK

Las Vegas Stands Together: Marking 9 Years & Breaking Ground on the Permanent Forever One Memorial 🕊️ Nevada Heart & Resilience 🕊️

For anyone who called Las Vegas home on October 1, 2017—or connected with our valley in the days that followed—the spirit of #VegasStrong isn’t just a hashtag; it’s the quiet, unbreakable bond that defines our community. As we reach the ninth anniversary of that night, Southern Nevada is coming together not only to honor those we lost, the survivors, and our incredible first responders, but to take a monumental, historic step forward in our collective healing.

1. The 1 October Sunrise Remembrance Ceremony

  • The Tradition: On Thursday, October 1, at 7:30 AM, Clark County will host the annual Sunrise Remembrance Ceremony at the Clark County Government Center Outdoor Amphitheater.

  • The Gathering: Featuring live musical tributes, a reading of the names, and reflections from community leaders and survivors, this solemn morning gathering brings together thousands across the valley to pause, remember, and reaffirm that we will never forget.

2. Historic Groundbreaking for the Permanent Forever One Memorial

  • A Sacred Space on the Strip: Following years of community design sessions, survivor input, and dedicated fundraising by the Vegas Strong Fund, ground is officially breaking this October on the permanent Forever One Memorial. Located on the 2-acre site along the Las Vegas Strip, this memorial will stand as a lasting sanctuary of hope and reflection.

  • The Architectural Vision: Shaped as an infinity symbol from above, the sanctuary features the 58 Candles—58 brilliant pillars of light alongside a 58-foot glass Tower of Light, a peaceful Remembrance Ring, and 58 living trees planted to honor each life lost.

  • Building a Legacy: Backed by Clark County, the LVCVA, MGM Resorts, the Vegas Strong Fund, and local partners, this milestone signals that our city is fulfilling its promise: to build a permanent refuge where families, survivors, and visitors from around the world can connect, grieve, and heal together.

Why We’re Loving It: Las Vegas has always been a city built on strength, resilience, and heart. To see this community come together nine years later—turning profound grief into a permanent beacon of love, light, and unity right on our famous boulevard—is the ultimate reminder of what it truly means to be local. #VegasStrong Forever 🤍✨

LAS VEGAS WEATHER UPDATE

Fall is Officially Holding the Keys 🍁☀️

Well, Neighbors, the desert sun is finally losing its summer attitude! We are stepping into an absolute dream stretch of weather across Southern Nevada. Whether you’re heading out to the annual Greek Food Festival in Spring Valley, catching outdoor concerts on Fremont Street, or catching Vegas Golden Knights hockey back at T-Mobile Arena, the valley is delivering crisp mornings, breezy afternoons, and prime autumn vibes.

Here’s your full forecast breakdown from Friday, September 25 through Thursday, October 1, so you can plan your fits accordingly!

The Weekend Outlook (Friday, Sept 25 – Sunday, Sept 27)

  • Friday & Saturday: We’re kicking things off with warm, classic desert sunshine! Daytime highs will hold steady around 95°F to 96°F under sunny and partly sunny skies. High-energy afternoon breezes (13–14 mph) will keep things feeling super comfortable. Evenings drop fast into the low-to-mid 70s, making late-night patio hangs an absolute dream.

  • Sunday’s Shift: The real cool front sneaks in on Sunday! Clouds roll in, bringing a high of 85°F—a full 10-degree drop from Saturday! Winds pick up out of the south, dropping overnight lows down to a crisp 67°F.

The Mid-Week Cool Down (Monday, Sept 28 – Thursday, Oct 1)

  • Monday Rain Chance: Keep an eye on the sky Monday afternoon! A swift disturbance brings a 30% chance of light showers and a high of just 78°F—our coolest day in months! Overnight temps dip down to a chilly 62°F.

  • Tuesday through Thursday: Sunshine returns fast! We bounce right back into the low 80s on Tuesday (82°F), reaching 89°F on Wednesday and 91°F by Thursday. With clear skies and virtually zero humidity, this is peak Vegas fall weather.

Home Girl Weather Tips: 💡

  • Layer Up for the Evening Drop: That 20+ degree daytime-to-nighttime temp drop is no joke. Keep a light leather jacket, oversized cardigan, or denim layer in the backseat if you’re staying out past sunset!

  • Monday Road Warning: If those light rain showers hit on Monday, drive extra carefully on the 215 and I-15. Quick desert rain releases road oil, so give yourself an extra 10 minutes for your commute.

  • Patio Season is GO: Sunday through Wednesday is prime outdoor dining weather. Grab your outdoor reservations at Downtown, Water Street, or Summerlin early!

  • Moisturize & Hydrate: As humidity drops down into the 15–20% range over the weekend, keep the lip oil, heavy moisturizer, and extra water handy so you stay glowing.

VEGAS MEANS BUSINESS (AND TRAFFIC)

Hold onto your steering wheel, Neighbors—late September is bringing a massive wave of business traveler traffic to the valley! As fall convention season ramps up into high gear, tens of thousands of corporate attendees, fitness fanatics, gaming executives, and trade professionals are descending on Las Vegas between September 25th and October 1st. Between heavy action at the Las Vegas Convention Center, high-profile events along the Venetian and MGM corridors, and localized surges in Summerlin, Symphony Park, and Downtown, expect packed rideshares, busy valets, and extra brake lights.

Here is your full breakdown of who is in town, where they are gathering, and which corridors to avoid during peak hours!

That’s a wrap for this week, 702! 🥂

If this week proves anything, it’s why we love calling Las Vegas home. We’re stepping out into that perfect 80-degree fall weather, grabbing patio seats, and getting out into the community.

From the solemn, powerful moments of unity as we honor 1 October to the energy taking over our streets—between 25,000 gaming executives, championship baseball under the lights in Summerlin, major concerts, and huge industry conventions like Smile Together and Vet Together taking over the North Strip—there is so much happening all across the valley.

Don’t let the week pass you by from the couch. Go support a local spot, catch a game, check out a new neighborhood gem, and soak up everything this city has going for it right now.

And seriously, let’s keep the local conversation growing from the ground up! Head straight inside The Explore 702 Neighborhood Facebook Group right now to introduce yourself, drop your favorite patio spots, or share your weekend plans as we march toward our next milestone. I want your authentic voice leading the way!

I’ll see you around town. Stay local, stay legendary!
